Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator
Kaieteur Logistics is hiring a Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator to manage freight movements, coordinate with drivers and shippers, and ensure every load is executed with the professionalism and operational discipline that defines Kaieteur. This is a Houston-based role working from our headquarters, supporting our fleet across all 48 contiguous states.
▶ Load Planning & Dispatch
- Coordinate daily freight assignments and route planning across dry van, flatbed, step deck, and tanker divisions
- Match available drivers with appropriate loads based on equipment, endorsements, and availability
- Ensure pickup and delivery windows are met with proactive schedule management
- Negotiate rates and build relationships with brokers and shippers
▶ Driver Communication & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned drivers
- Provide real-time support for routing, delays, weather, and road conditions
- Monitor driver hours of service (HOS) via ELD to ensure compliance
- Handle driver check-ins, pickup confirmations, and delivery updates
▶ Customer Service & Shipper Relations
- Communicate proactively with shippers and receivers on load status
- Provide accurate ETAs and notify of any delays before they become problems
- Handle rate confirmations, BOLs, and load documentation
- Build long-term shipper relationships through consistent, reliable service
▶ Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records in TMS and dispatch systems
- Ensure all loads meet DOT/FMCSA regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with safety team on incident reporting and compliance
- Process and verify driver paperwork (BOLs, PODs, inspection reports)

- 1+ year of freight dispatching or logistics coordination experience
- Strong knowledge of US geography and major freight corridors
- Proficiency with TMS and dispatching software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Available for rotating shifts including some weekends (24/7 dispatch operation)
- Experience dispatching flatbed, step deck, or tanker freight
- Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and hours of service rules
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Experience with load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.)
- Background in freight brokerage or carrier operations
